Background
My name is Karsten Reichart. As a private pilot, I have flown aircraft in general aviation for over 25 years as pilot-in-command. My professional background is general mechanical engineering. And in my spare time I occasionally design and build flight simulators for private use.
About the name
My technical knowledge in the field of engineering is the basis and the link between aviation and simulation. The name of the brand is derived from these two previously mentioned terms. It is the combination of the adjectives to fly and to simulate, in short: fly and sim. To emphasize the pronunciation, the expression is put in square parenthesis. Written with the International Phonetic Alphabet, this results in [flaɪ ɛn sɪm]. However, this is not easy to type on an ordinary keyboard. With the usual letters on a keyboard you finally get [flynsim].
